Who doesn’t love long sultry summer nights? The nights were you can sit with good friends and laugh until your hearts are content while sipping a good drink. The challenge is finding the perfect summer refreshments to serve. Here are some of our favorites.
- Patron and Cranberry.
This drink is as easy to make as it is delicious to the taste. A great mix of sweet and tart all you need is 2 oz of Patron for every 3 oz of cranberry juice. Toss in a lemon wedge for garnish and some ice and you are good to go.
This is a classic from yesteryear. But not the punch you spiked at your high school prom. Or even the punch concocted as your wild college frat parties. This punch will add an air of sophistication reflective of the life that you live now. Before you begin, realize that you will have to invest some time to get this right. First, secure a one gallon punchbowl and drop in the peels of 4 lemons and 1 cup of sugar and toss around a bit. Then let that sit for 3 to 4 hours.(time factor)
Next pour in about 8 oz of strained lemon juice and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Now it’s time for the final ingrediants: 8 oz of strong Jamaican Rum, 24 oz of Cognac, and 40 oz of cold water. Drop in some ice and let chill until ready to serve.
- Pink Martini Lemonade
Another delicious concoction that is easy to assemble. Just add 1 ½ oz of cranberry juice, 1 oz limoncello, 1 oz lemon flavored vodka, 1 oz lemonade, ½ oz lime cordial and ice. Shake and pour.
- Raspberry Collins
In a highball glass, muddle 2 raspberries and ¼ oz simple syrup. Add in 2 oz of gin and 1 oz lemon juice, and stir. Fill with ice and top with 1 oz club soda. Garnish with a lemon wheel, a mint sprig and two raspberries.
- Lemon Ginger Beer
It doesn’t get easier than this one. ½ cup of your favorite lager. ½ cup of ginger ale, ¼ cup lemonade. Pour into a glass of ice and you are done.
- El Mojito Cocktail
In the bottom of a carafe or large jug, muddle the leaves from 4 sprigs of mint, 4 quartered limes, and 2 ounces of agave syrup. Add 16 ounces of tequila, fill with ice, and stir. This batch will yield about 8 servings.
